Painting

On a vacation, protagonist goes to a art gallery and sees work by an obscure painter. There are two of his paintings here. His paintings are very abstract and hard to visualize. He sees them and is curious for some reason. He takes photographs of the paintings to look at later.

Later, at his hotel, he looks at the photographs and ponders over the paintings, and he realizes the two paintings are deciptions of parts of his own life. He seems to be the only one who can tell, because of certian things in the image. He claims it's impossible, and tries to pass it off as an odd coincidence that he sees this. He tells himself he's crazy for thinking it. It haunts him the next day. He tries not to think about it.

While trying to find excuses for himself to cover his interest, he goes on the internet and searches for the painter. He finds a small bit of info. He learns that the artist lived from 1901-1925. He tries to take this as some evidence that it's just a coincidence, and he's imagining things. There is also a small image of another painting he made. He is relieved that he can't seem to identify it with any part of his life. After this, he starts to calm down.

Several days later, he is in a elevator at his work place. It malfunctions, and he's stuck in it for two hours before they pull him out. While stuck, he realizes that the image on that website was the scene in the elevator!

After this, he goes back to his house and tries to think about all of it. One side of him adamantly denies that it's even remotely possible for something like this to happen, aside from a bizzare string of coincidences. Another side thinks there might be something to it. He tries to think up all sorts of reasons for why it isn't true. He reasons nobody would belive him even if he tried to explain it, because he would just sound crazy.

He discovers that another of the paintings depicts his death, and he goes mad over this revelation. He attempts to destroy all of the paintings, because he believes this is the only way to stop it from happening. While attempting to do so, he dies.
