School

School School full of small, spider-like robots that project the holographic 3D images of students. They interact with each-other and act like normal students. All of the robots are controlled by a sentinent computer in the basement of the school. Due to disease/disaster of some sort, there is only one actual human student in the entire school. He goes home every day to an empty house, there is food generated by a machine. Almost everything is run by machines due to lack of people. He searches the school after dark, sneaking past the sentries, and finds some information claiming there is another person living somewhere nearby. He goes out in search of this person. Eventually finds their house and a nearby encampment, but the person is no longer there. Only signs that someone was there. He follows the trail left behind and finds a girl about to commit suicide. He convinces her not to do it. She talks about how she was in the same type of "fake school" and wanted to escape, but there was nowhere to run. They go back to the house, and debate if it is worth bringing any more life forward into this world. Ultimately they decide to seek out whoever is left in the world and start a new society without machines.
